Description

ArtDog Istanbul is a contemporary culture magazine, both online and in print, dedicated to the arts. Since its launch in 2019, it has explored diverse disciplines including theater, music, literature, cinema, design, fashion, and architecture. By breaking down barriers between art and audience, ArtDog Istanbul acts as a bridge between global and local art platforms, offering a vibrant portrait of Istanbul’s dynamic cultural and artistic landscape.

Issue 29: “Cyprus Time”

Often associated with the cliché “Yavru Vatan” or, more recently, with mafia figures, casinos, and money laundering, Cyprus has long been misunderstood. This issue invites readers to see beyond the stereotypes. On a press trip to the island, the author discovers a world focused purely on art and design, featuring institutions like ARUCAD University, the Rodin Museum, Art Rooms Gallery, and more.

Key figures shaping Cyprus’ cultural scene include Emin Çizenel, Hüseyin Özinal, Anber Onar, and photographer İsmail Gökçe. Behind these initiatives is Erbil Arkın, known for his passion for art and the Rodin collection. Thanks to his vision, projects like ARUCAD University, İskele Art Hotel, Bandabulya stage, and the monumental sculpture “Asil Köylü” have come to life.

This issue encourages readers to set aside preconceived notions and explore Cyprus through the lens of culture, art, and creativity. It also features the second part of Dick Van Zuijlen’s extraordinary AI-driven interview, continuing from the previous issue.

An inspiring read for anyone eager to discover the cultural side of Cyprus that truly deserves attention.
