Suede is produced from the underside of cattle hides, which are brushed beforehand to make the material softer and more flexible. It is sourced from farms in southern Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul) and tanned in Brazil without harmful or prohibited chemicals. VEJA uses traditional dyes that comply with legal standards and pays special attention to water usage during the tanning process. The suede is coated with PFC-free waterproof oils to provide protection against light rain.
