In 1980, Helmut Newton came across press photographs of gang members at a police station. These images gave him the idea to make a series of girls standing against a plain white background, wearing only high heels, with light make-up, and with their hair natural, not fake: a series of anthropometric photographs, like police ID pictures.

Among Helmut Newton's Big Nude series, "Big Nude III" has become definitively iconic. Forty-four years later, Sober presents an AI-reinterpreted version of Helmut Newton's unprecedented iconic image as the cover of the second issue. Sober's AI-generated cover photo raises many questions that impact the culture we live in now;

“Is generative AI stealing from artists? Infringing copyrights or offering a new definition of what a work of art can be?”
