Product Use and Care Guidelines

• When purchasing sandals or shoes, please try on both the right and left to ensure you have selected the correct size and model.
• Footwear should be used in line with its intended purpose and structural properties. (For example, cork-footbed products should not come into contact with water.)
• Do not wash sandals or shoes by hand or in a washing machine.
• Since the products are made from natural materials (such as compressed cork and water-based adhesives), they should be kept away from water, not left in direct sunlight or in hot environments (like inside a car), and if they do get wet, they should be left to dry at room temperature before being worn again.
• Metal buckles and accessories should be kept away from moisture and damp environments to prevent rusting.
• Sweaty feet can cause discoloration or odor on the footbed. This is a natural outcome of using organic materials in production. It is recommended to regularly air out the product.
• EVA plastic-based products should not be stored in closed environments when wet and must be allowed to dry thoroughly.
• When soles get dirty, clean them gently with a damp cloth and mild soap (for nubuck or suede, use appropriate cleaning tools like a nubuck eraser or brush). Let them dry at room temperature.
• Before first use, applying a water-repellent spray is recommended to increase water resistance.
• As genuine leather is processed and dyed using natural methods, some color transfer may occur.
• To help your feet and leg muscles adapt to the footbed’s ergonomic structure, wear your shoes or sandals gradually for short periods at first. Birkenstock products may feel firm initially, but the flexibility of the materials and leather straps will increase with wear, and the footbed will mold to your feet.
• Small surface cracks may occur in the cork as a result of natural foot movement. These are not manufacturing defects and can be treated or repaired if needed.
• In rare cases, minor separation may occur between the cork sole and upper material. This is not a production defect but rather due to the use of water-based adhesives.
• Please note that any marks, abrasions, or deformations that may occur during wear—especially on digitally printed or patterned models—are not valid grounds for return.
• Products that are not used in accordance with the care and use guidelines may experience wear and tear that is not covered under manufacturing defects.
• Products purchased from abroad are not eligible for return or exchange, but may still be eligible for repair.
