Good People of vitruta: Moshe Aelyon

The new member of Good People of vitruta, Moshe Aelyon, answered the questions we directed to him.

Moshe, we know you very well, but let’s introduce you to those following Good People of vitruta. Who is Moshe Aelyon? How did it all start, and how is it continuing?

After attending Galatasaray High School, I lived in the United States for 35 years for my university education. I began my professional journey in the fashion industry, working with many well-known brands. I even launched my own brand. However, after seven years, I decided to switch to the event and organization sector and founded my own company. In the event and organization sector, which I truly enjoy, I mostly worked in the luxury segment. I’ve had the privilege of organizing prestigious events within very distinguished circles. For more than 20 years, I’ve been consulting for lifestyle brands in the experience-oriented hospitality sector. At this point, since my followers are also curious about my lifestyle, I try to document my daily life and use social media somewhat like a journal.

Do you have any YouTube channels or podcasts you regularly follow?

I really enjoy Armağan Çağlayan’s program on his own channel, where he has one-on-one conversations with his guests. He asks very insightful questions, guiding the conversation toward people with very real stories in a very sincere manner.

As for podcasts, Nilay Örnek’s Nasıl Olunur is fantastic. As someone who loves walking and always listens to podcasts while walking, I can proudly say that I am one of the most regular listeners of Nilay, who is also my friend.

Are you currently watching any series?

A series I’m watching right now and enjoying a lot is New Amsterdam. The show takes place in a hospital and examines the life and personality of each doctor individually. It’s about human stories, which is why my love for biographies also stems from my interest in people’s lives and their stories.

We’re also quite curious about your favorite restaurants in Istanbul.

Since most of the companies I consult for are in the food and beverage industry, traveling a lot and staying up to date is a natural part of my job. For this reason, I know many people in the industry. When listing the restaurants I visit the most, I’d probably start with Aheste; it truly feels like home. Another place I frequent is Mabou in Pera. Hodan in Galatasaray, which opened a few months ago, has also become one of my favorites. If I were to mention a place outside of Beyoğlu, I’d definitely recommend TURK, owned by my friend Fatih Tutak, one of the best chefs in Istanbul.

Lastly, can you share your 5 favorite brands at vitruta?
