MIZANPLAS #1

A Culinary Journey Between Japan and Spain

Two countries. Two tables. One shared language of pleasure.

The first issue of Mizanplas — a hybrid between a magazine and a book — embarks on a journey between Japan and Spain, exploring how food and wine carry memory, emotion, and meaning across cultures. From quiet kitchens to long tables, from the calm of rituals to the warmth of sharing, it gathers the small moments that turn a taste into a lasting memory.

From travel guides to Madrid and Sapporo, to the new generation of winemakers in the Sherry region; from the timeless story of López de Heredia’s family in Rioja to Japan’s jazz kissa culture — every story turns food and wine into a space of reflection. In the section titled “Wine Notes,” points give way to memories.

Designed by the Tokyo-based studio Kkultur and printed in London, Mizanplas #1 combines narrative depth with distinctive visual sensibility. Published in two languages (English–Turkish) and brought to life with the support of vitruta, this first edition celebrates the beauty of slowness, taste, and shared curiosity.

Founded in 2015 as a travel and gastronomy blog, Mizanplas has evolved into a publication that treats food and wine as culture, memory, and movement. It invites its readers not only to understand, but to taste, wander, and discover.

Mizanplas #1 is now available at vitruta stores and on vitruta.com.
